NCsoft Releases Q3 2004 Results.


SEOUL, South Korea, November. 4, 2004 � NCsoft� Corporation (KSE: 036570.KS), the world�s largest developer and publisher of online computer games has announced financial results from the 2004 third quarter, ending September 30. NCsoft disclosed that it has achieved its best quarterly performance with sales of KRW (Korean Won) 63.7 billion (US$57 million), KRW 28.8 billion (US$25.8 million) in operating profits and KRW 29.1 billion (US$26 million) in ordinary profits. The results showed 73 percent, 150 percent, and 309 percent increases in sales, operating income and current income, respectively, compared to those of the same quarter in 2003. In comparison with the second quarter of 2004, sales and operating income increased seven percent and current income increased three percent.

While revenues from Lineage� decreased slightly (down two percent) against the previous quarter, Lineage II revenues increased 14 percent. The company, which commercially launched Lineage II service in North America on April 29, in Taiwan on May 7, and in Japan on June 25, also reported KRW 10.9 billion (US$9.7 million) in overseas royalties in the third quarter.

NC Interactive�, the company�s publishing and distribution arm in North America, reported US$12.5 million from the sale of 29,000 units of Lineage II and 62,000 units of City of Heroes� and from monthly subscription revenues. Cumulative sales through September amounted to 115,000 units (Lineage II) and 252,000 units (City of Heroes). NCJapan moved into the black after the successful commercialization of Lineage II.

Through the third quarter, NCsoft earned KRW 184.3 billion (US$165.6 million) of the KRW 250 billion (US$224.7 million) in expected sales (about 74 percent) and KRW 81.9 billion (US$73.6 million) of the KRW 100 billion in expected current income (about 82%). NCsoft expects to reach its annual sales targets, and plans to commercially launch Lineage II service in China on November 10.
