They've been disqualified, and due to the poor attitude of the game owner, they will most likely be removed from the directory. On their site they've been targetting the vote page for Directory of Games via an iframe whenever someone logs in on the site. Due to this, when someone logs in, it casts a vote for their game. However, this isn't the reason they were DQ'd. The reason they were DQ'd was due to the fact that multiple votes were being cast by the same people and they didn't even know. This was done because the people would logon, their vote would be cast, they'd leave, and when they reconnected and logged on again, another vote would be cast through the changed IP address.
I've stated numerous times that multiple votes from the same computer can not, and will not be tolerated, especially in the amounts gained from their site(that being nearly 75 repetitive votes/day).
Since their owner feels it was my fault, and don't want to be part of the DoG directory, they can take their business elsewhere. From this point on, any site found using scripts, iframes, or any other methods of casting votes other than by clicking the link on this site, or from the vote link you were given when you submitted your game, they will be disqualified from the Top Games section of the site.
Because of the rudeness from the game owner, and the fact that they chose to pull themselves away from DoG, their money won't be refunded for the ad they purchased. I've yet to decide whether I intend to keep the ad up until the VCs expire on it, or if I'll also remove it.
The game owner has until midnight tonight to let me know if they want the game to remain in the directory or if they want it removed. Any damages inflicted to this site by them or any of their members will be taken up in court if they feel they want to play that way. I don't intend to screw around. |
