Various Things...
Today I talked with a couple game owners to gather a perspective on how well banner advertising is spitting out results, and determined that they aren't giving the results I had hoped they would give. Obviously this will change next month given the large campaign I'll be running to promote this site. To aide with this, I have changed a few things on the site.
1. I have created a contents page and resubmitted Directory of Games.com to various search engines. The entire reason I wasn't receiving any search engine traffic is due to the iframe the site is run in. This should solve the problem regarding the search engines not touching this site. To further this, when I get back home, I intend to re-code this current layout and remove that iframe entirely. There may be a short period of downtime while this occurs, so I'll apologise for it in advance.
2. Given the fact that the index entrance page is rendered obsolete now, I intend to remove it and have http://www.directoryofgames.com go directly into the site. Due to this, the Sponsor Banner space located on the index page will be removed entirely. Given the fact that I do intend to expand on the site further, more sponsor spaces will most likely appear over the next few weeks. Due tot he removal of this banner space on the index page, I WILL NOT be increasing the sponsor banner space. It will remain at $50.00/month or $500.00/year.
3. All game URLs now count as a link on Google effective whenever google decides to re-crawl my site. |
