Changes to Directory of Games...
Due to the expansion in size, Directory of Games will be undergoing some major changes.
1. Directory of Games will be moving to a brand new server. Downtime should not occur during the transfer, so there's nothing to worry about. This will allow me a larger amount of resources to use to enhance the site.
2. Giveaways will start occuring on the site. I'm currently going through the process of writing legal blurbs. Giveaways will function as follows:
- A game will come to me indicating they'd like to have a giveaway run through the site.
- I will post the giveaway on the index page and you'll click to it to get to the actual page.
- Here you will accept or decline the rules and terms of the giveaway.
- You will then submit your email address, First name, and Last name and it will be stored in a secure area for the duration of the giveaway.
- Random people will be selected from the data submitted and those selected will win whatever is being given away. You will then be contacted via the email address you provided and give your mailing information.
- After all items are mailed, the database containing the email addresses and such will be purged(deleted). None of the information in that database will be sold or looked at other than by me to get the winners information.
3. New/Improved areas will be implemented next month. The areas are as follows:
- Featured Game of the Day will be changed to featured games of the month and will house 1 game every 2 weeks. It is these games that will have been reviewed and they will not be deemed game of the month until they have been reviewed and the review is posted. This way noone will know which game is being reviewed and allows us to review them in secret. Along with this, I intend to add 1 new section; Up and Coming, which will house interviews with game owners to gain an insight into their plans for their games. These game owners may not be BBG owners. They may very well be owners of console games or PC games, or any type of game that can be played on a computer.
4. Directory of Games is going to be flooded with new visitors starting the end of next month. I intend to start running exposure campaigns to get the site's name out there. |
