Launch of Directory of Games...
Alright...as most can see, everything is really starting to come together. Tomorrow I intend to finish off the forums, the user areas, and the banner modules. On Sunday I intend to finish off the game search module as I've been holding off on it trying to get as many games into the database as possible. However, people don't want to submit their games at this moment of time. As to the reason why, I'm not sure...maybe they don't realise the amount of hits the site is getting, or maybe they're afraid of change. I'm not really worried though. THe sites getting tons of hits now everyday, and it's slowly becoming more known. I'm waiting on the search engines to kick in though. That should raise the amount of hits the site is receiving by a large factor.
The official launch for Directory of Games will be Sunday June 20, 2004 at midnight EST (so technically monday morning). For the remainder of June, if you purchase adspace anywhere on the site with the exception of the main page, Directory of Games will allow you to place a second banner of any type smaller than the one purchased for free for up to the 1 year contract. (ie. You purchase ad space for the banner on the right(80x490). You may then place a second banner of either 80x490, 60x468, or the square banner in the bottom left corner for free for the same amount of time you've purchased ad space for the innitial banner.)
Lastly, just to let you know where we currently stand in terms of activeness, we are currently receiving roughly 2200 hits/day on the site. Definitely not near where we will be within the next couple months, but for a site that's still not yet launched, I'd say that's fairly decent. |
